Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes

There haven't been many posts this week because of studying and whatnot, but today I am completely pumped about: Basil Rathbone. He, to me, is the definitive version of Sherlock Holmes. He even looks like the drawing Sir Arthur Conan Doyle included in the books. He has this long bird-like nose, and crazy bone structure that pops out and says "hello there!" The way he dressed, with those coats and top hats...I'm drooling.

I love the pipe. I love the pinkie ring. Gaaah. Why is this man so beautiful?

Hmmm the violin. His brow does this furrowing thing whenever he played it in the movies. Rathbone= dashing.

  1. Mmm, delightful! I was listening to one of the Rathbone/Bruce radio shows when I sewed buttons back on that vest I bought last time I was in G'ville, so I will think of him every time I wear it. And I didn't think the vest could be any more awesome.
